Quesnel RCMP seize guns made with 3D printer at Ten Mile Lake home


A 26-year-old man was arrested and launched this week pending additional investigation after Mounties seized weapons manufactured from a 3D printer.

Sgt. Clay Kronebusch of the Quesnel RCMP stated a search warrant carried out Feb. 15 at about 7:30 p.m. within the 4000 block of Ten Mile Lake Highway led to the seizure of manufactured firearms and firearm elements, 3D printers and different equipment used within the manufacturing of firearms.

Quesnel RCMP’s Crime Discount Unit, in partnership with the Nationwide Weapons Enforcement Help Group (NWEST), carried out the search, which was the results of an investigation into the manufacturing of firearms and firearm elements using 3D printers.

The outcomes of the investigation shall be despatched to the BC Prosecution Service for evaluation of acceptable costs, famous police.

“It’s unlawful to fabricate firearms and to own or entry laptop knowledge that can be utilized with a 3D printer to fabricate firearms,” stated Kronebusch. “These manufactured firearms have the potential to pose an amazing danger to the general public and police.”
