The Plockmatic Group will use the Hunkeler Innovation Days 2023 to launch the new SC6000 – a larger format version of its popular digital die-cutting system, with an expanded size capability of 340 x 710mm allowing it to handle significantly longer printed substrates. Morgana Systems and Intec Printing Solutions will both sell the unit at the show.
ColorCut SC6000 is an “on-demand” digital sheet cutter, with no physical cutting dies or time-consuming set-up costs. This unit is designed for busy print shops looking for a high-capacity, affordable device that can do unattended cutting. This compact, portable device can be placed in any printer shop.
Intec ColorCut SC6000, an innovative type of automated cutter that combines flatbed and sheet-fed technologies, is revolutionary. The SC6000 offers reliable feeding, instant job retrieval and perfect high-speed cutting. This model is the new “bigger brother” of the highly successful Intec ColorCut SC5000, with a range of updated features.
The unit can cut and crease almost any shape up to 350 micron media. It will also produce sheet labels and kiss-cut sheets. The associated cut files can be retrieved by scanning a QR code or using the job library, even for mixed jobs.
ColorCut SC6000 can digitally cut packaging, point-of-sale products, and lightweight labels and card projects. This unit’s larger size will appeal to people who create large format work such as display signage.
An eighth-generation Vision3 CCD camera is used to quickly read and retrieve the cut files for each sheet. The SC6000 can handle multiple jobs at once, cutting each one in a continuous and seamless flow. The dual “Grip and Drive” feed system holds media stable during cutting from both sides of the cutting head, enabling it to cut closer to media edges. The stacker can hold upto 900 sheets. This allows the system to be left unattended and produce medium- to long runs.
Based on Intec flatbeds cutting mats, the cutting strip provides an ideal surface for cutting, creasing and kiss-cut. SmartTags are placed in the cut lines to preserve the job information. This leaves a neat and manageable stack in the catch tray. The high-capacity air-feeder can be used with the blade for automatic separation and jog functions to present each sheet perfectly to the cutter.
ColorCut Pro Production Studio software comes standard. It offers exceptional digital productivity for both designer and machine operator. ColorCut Pro Server Station, an optional accessory that enhances the SC6000’s functionality and makes it easier to set up the system, is available. The ColorCut Suite of software is pre-installed on your operating PC. This server station also comes with a flatscreen display monitor.
Hunkeler Innovation Days
Plockmatic will launch the SC6000 along with the Morgana VFL feeder. Plockmatic also displays the Morgana DigiCoater Pro 400 using an innovative coating and LED curing. Along with the Morgana VFL feeder and the unit, the unit will be on display at the Plockmatic booth. It will also be on display at the Canon booth inline with an ix3200 printer.
Morgana will also be displaying the DigiFold Pro XL creaser/folder. Morgana will also be showing off an updated PowerSquare two knife trimming tool, which can be fitted with a third blade to produce two-up applications using the PowerSquare range.
