You can scan directly to the desired application by simply pressing a button. The system also allows you to send faxes to your PC via faxing. You can connect via USB or Parallel connections. The MFC-8500 works with Window 95, 98SE, 98SE, 2000, XP and Mac OS 8.5-9.2.x.
There are two sizes of Brother MFC-8500 replacement cartridges. The regular replacement cartridge (TN430) will yield around 3,000 pages. The high-yield Brother MFC-8500 cartridge (TN460 toner cart) will produce about 6,050 pages. The MFC-8500 also utilizes the DR400 drum cartridge.
