AIM3D and Create it REAL partner on Voxelfill strategy

AIM3D, the German extrusion hardware manufacturer, and Create it REAL of Denmark have partnered to integrate a software solution that incorporates the patent-pending Voxelfill strategy. AIM3D’s new approach is to use defined select densities within the component in order to overcome inhomogeneous strength and scores. The partnership around Voxelfill and capability development will be realized through a dedicated slicing software solution, SlicEx, and an integrated Voxelfill plugin for AIM3D’s ExAM printers.

The goal is to help the additive manufacturing industry overcome its disadvantages, such as tensile strength and bending resistance and the very brittle behaviour along the Z axis. Voxelfill’s process is best suited for 3D-printing plastics or fiber-filled materials. It can also be used to 3D print metal and ceramic parts using the CEM method. AM benefits from the increased construction speed, as well as the layer-by-layer filling.
